Coffee Pods

Coffee pods are not accepted in curbside recycling. They are too small to be sorted at the recycling facility. Put them in the trash.

Recycle

There are some mail-in programs for coffee pod recycling:

• Terracycle has a mail-in recycling program.
• Nespresso has a take-back program for their coffee pods.

Coffee grounds (separated from the pod) can go in food scraps.

Some coffee pod brands are compostable. Check the packaging and/or search for products on the Biodegradable Products Institute database.

Please note: when in doubt, throw it out. If you aren't sure if a coffee pod is certified compostable, throw it in the trash. It's best not to contaminate the food scraps.
