Recycling & Waste

Engines

Legal Considerations

It is illegal to place brake fluid, motor oil, oil filters, power steering fluid or transmission fluid in the trash, on the ground, in water, down a sewer, or in the storm drain.

Disposal

Drain any oil and gas from the engine and remove all non-metal parts before recycling. Automobile fluids are accepted at a household hazardous waste collection site for free.

Bring drained engines to a disposal company listed below. Call to verify items accepted, hours and fees.
