Invasive plants, such as garlic mustard, are accepted at all yard waste collection sites. Invasive trees and shrubs, such as buckthorn, are accepted at yard waste sites that accept brush.

Seeds from these plants are destroyed from the high heat either during the composting process or the burning of mulch for energy recovery.
