Bring your plant waste (including houseplants), to a yard waste site for free. If plants are potted, remove them from the pot and shake off the dirt/soil and spread it on your lawn or garden beds for reuse. Ramsey County Yard Waste sites do not accept dirt, soil, or stumps.

You could also set up a composting system in your backyard. Backyard composting is an easy way to turn organic waste into rich soil for your garden. Contact your city about rules and restrictions.

Your trash hauler may provide pick-up service for plant waste. Call to verify items accepted, hours and fees.
