Siding

Definition

Some older types of siding contain asbestos (known as Transite siding). Improper removal of asbestos siding can release asbestos fibers into the air, creating a health hazard. See asbestos for more information.

Disposal

You may place small amounts of siding without asbestos in the trash. For large amounts, contact your trash hauler or bring it to one of the companies listed below. Call to verify items accepted, hours and fees.

Recycle

Aluminum and steel siding can be recycled as scrap metal. Bring it to one of the recycling companies listed below. Call to verify items accepted, hours and fees.

Siding that is clean and new (16 feet and shorter) is accepted seasonally (April through October) at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
