Recycling & Waste

Stoves

Legal Considerations

It is illegal to place stoves, ranges and other major appliances in the trash. State law requires appliances to be processed to remove hazardous components prior to recycling the scrap metal.

Recycle

If you are purchasing a new stove, ask the retailer if they will recycle your old one when they deliver the new one.

You can also contact your trash hauler or Best Buy for curbside pick up options.

You can also bring the stove to one of the recycling companies listed below. Call to verify items accepted, hours and fees.

Stoves that are clean and in working condition (less than 10 years old) are accepted at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
