2025 Youth Workforce Champion Award Winners

On April 3, the Workforce Innovation Board of Ramsey County (WIB) proudly recognized the outstanding achievements of Donnell Bratton and Stephany Aguirre Lopez as the recipients of the 2025 Youth Workforce Champion Awards. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional commitment to supporting and empowering Ramsey County’s youth and young adults on their personal, educational and career journeys.

"Donnell and Stephany’s dedication to guiding young people toward success is truly inspiring," said Catrice O'Neal, Director of Ramsey County Workforce Solutions. "Their work reflects the heart of our mission to provide opportunities and resources that empower the next generation."

The awards celebrate two outstanding members of the Youth Works! community who have significantly contributed to the growth and development of Ramsey County’s young people, ages 14–24:

  • Donnell Bratton is a pastor with the Frogtown Rondo Black Church Alliance and received the Legacy Award in recognition of his decades of service and unwavering commitment to uplifting young people. An advocate for youth, Donnell has provided mentorship, career exploration opportunities and community-building initiatives that have helped shape the futures of countless individuals. Through his leadership, he has made strong partnerships that create access to education, employment and personal growth for young people in Ramsey County.
  • Stephany Aguirre Lopez is a Youth and Community Project Manager at Sprockets and was honored with the Rising Star Award for her emerging leadership and innovative approach to youth engagement. Stephany has played a pivotal role in developing programs that connect young people to after school learning opportunities, workforce training and community resources. Her dedication to youth voice and advocacy ensures that young people not only access opportunities but also have a say in shaping the programs designed for them.

Aalayha Traub, Chair of the WIB’s Youth Committee, praised this year’s winners for their dedication and influence. "Donnell and Stephany are true champions for our youth," said Traub. "Their guidance and support have helped countless young people discover new opportunities and build confidence in their futures. On behalf of the Youth Committee, I am thrilled to honor their contributions."
