Legal Considerations

It is illegal to put brake fluid, motor oil, oil filters, power steering fluid and transmission fluid in the trash or pour them on the ground, down the drain or in a storm drain.

Disposal

Bring automotive fluids to the household hazardous waste collection sites for free. See the full list of items accepted. 

​Some automotive service stations might accept used oil and other automotive fluids. Call them for more information.

Put empty containers in the trash. They cannot be recycled.
