Battle Creek Waterworks to Remain Closed for 2025 Season Amid Major Renovations
As part of a comprehensive remodel and improvement project, Battle Creek Waterworks will remain closed for the 2025 season. Originally constructed in 2000, this beloved family water park within the Ramsey County regional park system is undergoing significant upgrades to enhance safety, accessibility, and overall visitor experience.
Exciting Improvements Coming to Battle Creek Waterpark
This extensive renovation project includes:
- Mechanical, Pool, and Play Structure Repairs – Ensuring all water features are safe, functional, and enjoyable for all visitors.
- ADA Accessibility Upgrades – Enhancing inclusivity so individuals of all abilities can fully experience the park.
- Energy and Efficiency Enhancements – Modernizing building systems for improved sustainability and reduced environmental impact.
- Parking Lot Repaving – Providing a smoother, safer parking experience.
- Stormwater System Repairs and Upgrades – Improving drainage and environmental management within the facility.
- New Shaded Seating Areas and Non-Water Play Spaces – Expanding recreational opportunities beyond the water attractions.
A New Name for a New Era
As part of this transformation, Battle Creek Waterworks is also getting a new name. The name “Waterworks” referred to the series of pipes and valves that were play features of the old play structure. When the waterpark opens with the new, modern play features installed, the old “Waterworks” name will not be as fitting, so the facility will reopen under the straightforward and welcoming name: Battle Creek Waterpark.
Looking Ahead to Summer 2026
While the closure may be disappointing for this summer, these exciting changes will ensure a more enjoyable and accessible waterpark experience for years to come. We appreciate the community’s patience and support as we work to improve this cherished recreational space.
We look forward to welcoming you back for a refreshed and revitalized Battle Creek Waterpark in Summer 2026!
