Gold Line bus rapid transit service opens
Ramsey County welcomes the METRO Gold Line, a new bus rapid transit (BRT) service that provides fast, frequent and reliable public transportation for residents across the East Metro. The 10-mile bus rapid transit line connects Saint Paul, Maplewood, Landfall, Oakdale and Woodbury generally along I-94.
The Gold Line is a major step forward in making transit more accessible, reliable, and connected for Ramsey County residents. This transformational transit project was delivered on budget and ahead of schedule and is Minnesota’s first BRT line to operate primarily in dedicated bus-only lanes, ensuring faster, more efficient travel.
Why the Gold Line matters
- Buses run every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends.
- The Gold Line connects more than 93,500 jobs along the corridor.
- The route includes 16 new stations, with connections to sidewalks, bike trails, and park & ride locations.
- $20 million in pedestrian and trail improvements ensure easier access for all, including people with disabilities.
- The Gold Line supports the county’s commitment to reducing congestion and expanding public transit options.
