Tips to avoid a wait at yard waste sites

Ramsey County yard waste sites experience heavy traffic during the fall. To avoid a wait, consider the following tips:

• Visit yard waste sites on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. Avoid the first hour of opening since there is almost always a rush. If you need to go on a weekend, Saturday mornings between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. can be less busy.
• Avoid fall weekends with warm, dry weather.
• Visit the sites during cold or rainy weather or when the Vikings are playing.
• If possible, hold on to your collected yard waste until the end of the season. Traffic at the sites decreases significantly after the third weekend in November.

Please note that off-season hours are December through March, and yard waste sites are only open on weekends during those months.
