County board approves 2019 budget
The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approved a budget of $738,118,609 for 2019 during their Dec. 11 meeting.
Ramsey County uses a two-year budgeting process. 2019 is the supplemental year of the 2018-2019 budget. The budget includes a 4.3 percent increase to the property tax levy in 2019, which remains unchanged from the 2018-2019 budget that commissioners approved on Dec. 12, 2017.
On Aug. 7, 2018, County Manager Ryan O'Connor proposed a 2019 supplemental budget of $737,799,770. Roughly $320,000 of the increase between that draft and the final approved budget is primarily attributable to new grant funding.
Public hearings on the proposed property tax levy and budget were held on Sept. 11 and Nov. 26, 2018. Videos and other materials from the hearings are available at ramseycounty.us/publichearings.
