Geocaching is an excellent way for individuals and families to explore the park system. There are 40 caches hidden in Ramsey County parks and thousands throughout the state.

Caches are typically waterproof containers with small items hidden inside. The caches are hidden in hollow logs or other concealed areas, then marked with a GPS. The GPS coordinates are uploaded to the geocaching website. When someone finds a cache, they sign a log book and take or leave a small item. They also post their finds in the online log book.
