Become a Recycling Ambassador and help inspire your community to reduce waste. Recycling Ambassadors take a six-week training program to learn more about environmental health, waste systems and recycling. Recycling Ambassadors agree to volunteer 20 hours annually to encourage others to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Workshop topics include:
Waste systems in Ramsey County.
Yard waste, food waste, and composting.
Climate change.
Environmental justice.
Household hazardous waste.
General recycling.

If you need volunteers for a project, please contact Environmental Health. Examples of volunteer activities include monitoring waste stations, helping at a cleanup event, hosting an informational table at an event or assisting at a food distribution event.
If you’d like Recycling Ambassadors to give a presentation on an environmental health topic, please complete the Community Event Request Form.
Workshops are held every Wednesday from Sept. 10-Oct. 15 and include both in-person and virtual sessions. Please make sure you have access to the internet and are available for all six workshops before registering.
