Adventurers day camps are offered to children entering 7th or 8th grade, unless otherwise noted.
Adventurers camps are held Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Summer 2024 registration opened on February 6. Most camps are full, but a waiting list is available.

Imagine yourself lost, what do you do? Practice basic survival skills: build a shelter, start a fire and shoot a bow and arrow. Explore Tamarack Nature Center and Otter Lake to uncover navigating new spaces in this traveling adventure camp!
DIY: Project Garden
July 1-3 (3-day week)
9 a.m.-4 p.m.
This do-it-yourself camp inspires everything garden-riffic! Tap your creativity and get hands-on experience designing and building whimsical creations and garden gadgets. Enjoy the fruits of your labor when you whip up some delicious garden dishes. At week’s end you will have new skills, recipes and projects to take home and call your own!
HammocKamp *
July 8-11

Hammocking is real! Explore the nooks and crannies of the nature center from a different perspective. Hike with your camp friends to a new area daily, set up and hang out.
Conversation Conservation *
July 15-18

Conservation is at the core of this camp’s conversations, but what does it mean? We will explore the history of conservation, preservation and park systems. Step into the role of a conservationist! Get your hands dirty, learn how to protect nature and get creative!
Ultimate Adventures *
July 22-25

Are you up to the challenge of creating your own ultimate adventure? Learn how to build a shelter, shoot a bow, and build a fire!

The laws of physics are all around us. What does a compass and a salmon have in common? Take a trip to Bald Eagle Lake to find out! Explore how nature presents the laws of physics, then use this knowledge to build and test your own nature-inspired gadgets.
JAN-IT

Here's your chance to become a Junior Assistant Naturalist (JAN) in training! Accomplish camp tasks, lead younger camp’s games and learn some of the goals that help a JAN succeed. Have fun while realizing the satisfaction of being a part of the Tamarack team.
Best of Trekkers and Adventurers *

Celebrate the end of summer with a grab bag of camp fun. We’ll keep track of the most popular activities and recreate the magic of summer. Stay tuned, you never know what’s going to make the “best of” list. We may even take an adventure to the Otter Lake portion of our park.
