Tamarack Nature Center is home to beautiful cross-country ski trails and the only designated snowshoe trail in the county parks system.

Tamarack's ski trail system includes a 4K more difficult loop, 3K easier loop and 1K practice loop that's perfect for beginners.

Ski passes

Starting with the 2022-2023 ski season, Ramsey County and Saint Paul will use a mutual ski pass. Ramsey County will no longer accept the Great Minnesota Ski Pass. All skiers age 12 and older are required to have a Ramsey County and Saint Paul ski pass to use Tamarack trails.

Passes are not required for snowshoeing.

Winter Recreation Rental Shack

Walk-in availability is not guaranteed. Equipment availability is dependent upon snow and trail conditions. Rentals are for on-site use only.Two-Hour Ski and Snowshoe Rentals

All ages.
$12/person.

Rentals for 1 - 6 people

Thursday - Sunday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Renters may arrive up to 15 minutes early to pick up equipment. Late arrivals will be served but may need to wait. Rental period will not be adjusted for late arrivals. Inquire about availability for more than six people:

CANCELATION POLICY: If Tamarack cancels a rental because of poor trail conditions, you will have the opportunity to reschedule, take an account credit or receive a full refund. Customer cancelations are not eligible for refunds unless extreme circumstances apply.

Tamarack is an ideal setting to learn how to cross-country ski or snowshoe, and we offer a variety of programs and lessons for both youth and adults. Lessons are geared for beginners and those looking to improve their skills.
