Housing Services & Support

• Families with at least one minor child in need of emergency shelter should call the Shelter Entry & Diversion team during the hours above or United Way’s Helpline and Crisis Line after 9:30 p.m. at 651-291-0211 for a pre-screen.
• Families who are currently unsheltered can also call our Family Shelter Team directly during business hours at 651-266-7818.
• People experiencing domestic violence should call Day One Services at 1-866-223-1111. Day One Services may be able to help find a safe place for families while fleeing abuse..
• Women and children escaping abuse, battling addiction, or struggling homelessness and poverty can call Union Gospel Mission – Twin Cities' Naomi Family Residence at 651-228-1800.

• Any veteran in need of housing assistance or resources can contact Ramsey County's Veterans Services at 651-266-2545.
• Veterans are also invited to visit the county Veterans Assistance office at 90 Plato Blvd. W, Saint Paul, MN 55107.

• Homeless veterans and their families can also call 1-888-546-5838 (LinkVet) and join the Homeless Veteran Registry for additional housing resources.

Homelessness prevention efforts are meant to keep individuals and families in their current housing. Ramsey County and other local providers offer financial assistance to eligible households for the following:

• Past due rent.
• Rent deposits.
• Past due mortgages.
• Utilities.

Coordinated Entry is a client-centered system created to simplify and equitably streamline access to assessments, intake, and referrals to housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness. The Coordinated Entry System is designed to identify people with the highest vulnerability, service needs, and longest periods of homelessness, to match with supportive housing opportunities. People experiencing homelessness should connect with a Ramsey County assessor to determine eligibility for the Coordinated Entry System.

Single adults (18+) without minor children can connect with a Ramsey County Assessor at the following locations:

Saint Paul Opportunity Center
422 Dorothy Day Place, Saint Paul
Visit second floor to receive help with assessment.

Community Resource Outreach Project
Walk-in assessments are welcome at the following locations and times:

• Tuesdays at Rondo Community Library, 10 a.m. -noon.
• Wednesdays at Minnesota Community Care’s Downtown Clinic, noon- 2 p.m.  – second floor
• Thursdays at George Latimer Central Library, 10 a.m. - noon.
