Veterans Services Racial Equity Community Engagement Action Team

Veterans Services Racial Equity Community Engagement Action Team (RECEAT) is made up of people who have served in the military, their family members (dependents, survivors) and other community members who work collaboratively and have shared power in decision making with other county departments to advance equity in services. 

In addition to participating in monthly meetings, RECEAT members also can conduct community engagement and outreach, serve on hiring panels and represent Veterans Services in the larger Health and Wellness RECEAT.

RECEAT purpose:

  • Create and implement equitable systems change in the county’s Veteran Services and in the community.
  • Provide lived experiences to aid in Veteran Services’ decision-making processes.

We’re looking for:

  • Veterans, their dependents/survivors and other community members from a variety of backgrounds and lived experiences.
  • Community members who are committed to improving Veterans Assistance Services for all.

Member commitment:

  • Attend the online team meeting on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
  • Attend an in-person team meeting each quarter.
  • Be available for additional meetings, community outreach events, and other opportunities.

Compensation:

  • RECEAT members receive $25 per hour.
