Resident Experience
Ramsey County’s Resident Experience Design focuses resident experiences, perspectives, and challenges at the center of our service design and delivery. RX Design advances Residents First Program strategic priorities and is aligned with Race & Health Equity policies.
A “resident” is a person, business or organization that maintains a physical or legal presence in Ramsey County.

Design principles
Resolving Root Cause
Ensuring that we solve the core, root issues, not just the problem as presented to us (which is often the symptom, not the cause).
Resident First – Resident Centered.
Place resident experience at the center of our service delivery and design to empower communities and improve our ability to better understand resident priorities through direct engagement.
Co-creating strategies with residents, community partners and county staff.
Taking a systems point of view, realizing that most complications result from the interdependencies of the multiple parts.
Applying solutions actively and repeatedly.
Continually testing and refining our proposals, ensuring they truly meet the needs of the Ramsey County residents and/or people in Ramsey County.
Residents Experience Design principles encourages projects, teams, and departments to collaborate with residents and staff in various modes to inform Ramsey County of resolutions, challenges, and measurements. These principles guide our intentions for residents to focus Ramsey County’s awareness and attention to inefficiencies and pain points, as well as co-design decisions with departments to implement resolutions in real time.
Methodologies include but are not limited to backwards mapping, journey mapping, immediate feedback, formal and informal focus groups, collaborative efforts with resident/county/community project teams or advisory groups and strategic field analysis.
