Service Alert
Some SNAP participants are reporting problems with their EBT accounts. If you get SNAP, General Assistance, Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP), the MFIP Housing Assistance Grant, or Minnesota Supplemental Aid (MSA) check the balance and call your casework if any problems. Check the EBT card on the day you normally would expect benefits to be deposited. Monitor your card closely before using it.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – formerly known as food stamps – helps Minnesotans with low incomes get the food they need for nutritious and well-balanced meals. If you are approved for SNAP, you can use your benefits at many stores, farmers markets and senior dining sites.
- Learn more about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
- To replace your EBT card, call 888-997-2227.
To apply for SNAP visit: mnbenefits.mn.gov.
Please submit only one application. Submitting multiple applications through different channels will delay the processing of your application.
After an application is submitted and assigned, your assigned financial worker will call you for your phone interview.
Due to high volumes, the current processing of applications and wait times are longer than usual. County staff are working to decrease backlogs and may call after business hours and on weekends to conduct phone interviews. Beginning in March, residents can expect to receive phone calls after 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. for intake interviews.
Clients can send applications and verifications via email to [email protected], fax to 651-266-3942 or drop them off in a form drop box at sites throughout the county. See form drop-off & walk-in assistance sites.
