Date of homicide: January 21, 2020 

On January 21, 2020, at approximately 4:00 pm, officers were on patrol when they heard gunshots in the area of Arundel Street and University Avenue West in Saint Paul. An officer observed a male standing on the sidewalk of Arundel Street south of University Avenue in Saint Paul holding a handgun in his extended arm and firing it down Arundel Street. 

Officers contacted two men who were on the east sidewalk of Arundel Street. One of the men, the victim, Larnell Brown, had a gunshot wound to his chest. Officers took the other man into custody and had medics respond to assist Larnell. He was taken to Regions Hospital and was pronounced dead at 4:33 pm.
