Teresa Bear Ribs

Teresa Ribs was watching her grandchildren on August 19. She had stepped in the backyard to talk to her husband on the phone. During the conversation the husband heard Teresa ask someone, “What are you doing? Why are you here?” The husband said the call ended shortly after that. The husband called his daughter who was nearby to check on Teresa. When the daughter arrived at the home she found Teresa in the backyard unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. The daughter called 9-1-1 at 8:45 pm. Police and paramedics arrived and pronounced Teresa dead at the scene.

Teresa’s daughter believes that Maurice June and Christopher Todd were looking for her and when she wasn’t home they shot her mother instead. The daughter’s boyfriend was killed in a shooting the previous day. Investigators talked with both Maurice and Christopher who gave conflicting stories of the crime blaming each other. Maurice and Christopher were both taken into custody for allegedly shooting Teresa.
